Cruise Greenland 2013 - Sailing Expedition - Over Green Islands

It will be May when we set sail from Górki Zachodnie located on the green and full of life Sobieszewo Island and - in the first leg  of the expedition - heading towards Greenland, the largest island in the Arctic. During this trip we will visit Iceland, raw evergreen North Atlantic island, where even the craters of volcanoes hid under the green carpet of moss and grasses. Severe and covered with an ice cap all year long, in summer Greenland reveals its green western shores. Very rapidly the nature changes this area in flowering meadows and glaciers seem to be confused by this green attack so they are moving back inland. Our goal is Thule (Qaanaag), the northernmost settlement in Greenland. The Innu continue to live here like ages ago, when hunting and fishing was essential for survival in this harsh climate. Green summer will come to an end quickly and in August we will begin the return trip visiting on our way the Faroe Islands, green island of Ireland, and by the end of October we will get to Portugal and dock in the most colorful marina in Europe, Albufeira. Sailing through the green islands of the Atlantic we cannot omit the Cape Verde Islands... and we will be there in 2014.
